Amul To Sponsor USA And South Africa Cricket Teams
The Indian dairy firm Amul will sponsor both the USA and South African cricket teams in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
This effort demonstrates Amul’s commitment to promoting cricket in the United States, where their milk is currently available. The USA squad, co-hosting the competition for the first time, will face Canada on June 1, with Amul serving as the lead arm sponsor.
Amul has a history of sponsoring cricket teams, including the Netherlands team. The alliance with South Africa strengthens its worldwide cricket presence.
Venu Pisike, chairman of USA Cricket, and Jayen Mehta, Amul’s managing director, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, with Mehta confirming Amul Milk’s support for the USA squad.
Amul has been associated with South Africa since the 2019 ODI series and the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. Mehta expressed delight in strengthening connections with the Proteas ahead of the T20 World Cup.
Furthermore, Amul’s parent business, GCMMF, intends to produce four milk types in the United States, and products such as paneer and buttermilk, to cater to the Indian diaspora and Asian community. GCMMF is now exporting dairy products to roughly 50 countries, with a revenue of around Rs 55,000 crore in the fiscal year 2022–23, an increase of 18.5%.
