Rafael Nadal Registers For 2024 Laver Cup In Berlin

The 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal is scheduled to compete for Team Europe in the 2024 Laver Cup in Berlin. Considering his ongoing hip problem, this may be his last tournament of the year. With his injury troubles dating back to 2023, Nadal’s participation marks a significant milestone.

In the 2022 Laver Cup, he was paired with Roger Federer, who said an emotional goodbye to the game of tennis. Under coach Bjorn Borg, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, and Alexander Zverev will be competing with Rafael Nadal on Team Europe to reclaim the Laver Cup from September 20–22. Nadal conveyed his enthusiasm while highlighting how crucial it is for him to take advantage of every chance at this point in his career. Though he made a short comeback to Brisbane, he was sidelined for the Australian Open and needed more time to heal from a hip injury.

Although he recently played at the Barcelona Open, he suffered an early exit. Nadal, who is now ranked 512th, hasn’t won a championship since winning the French Open for the 14th time two years ago. Team World, led by coach John McEnroe, features Alex de Minaur, Taylor Fritz, and Tommy Paul in their lineup for this year’s Laver Cup.
